Well here we are in Sherman Oaks. 8 days of deconstructing and reconstructing. I am totally wiped out but it looks really good. New tables couches and chairs on the way.Hope to be posting soon.

Is that a Lost In Space robot I see???

TotalD said...

Yes, full size, a full size robocop too. You will see. THere were about 60 boxes.

Congratulations on the new digs! Looks like it was an ordeal to move all that stuff.

TotalD said...

It was the worst experience of my life frankly Jillian . 6 hours sleep in 4 days. I never want to do it again. We tend to stay in places for 14 years at a shot though so hopefully that is it.

Knowing you, it's THE Lost In Space robot.
With all that paraphernalia, you could easily replace Forrest J Ackerman.

Unknown said...

Yeh. I say that every time I move.

Congratulations on the move
We still have boxes we haven't opened in over three years so hope you unpack better than we have. Sent you a gmail but don't know if you had time to check your account with the move and everything. I miss hearing from you. My blog has been updated showing the recent art show.

Before moving to California, I venture to guess that you need to have a job first. Otherwise, you'll be out on the streets in a month! Is is that expensive?

TotalD said...

Well , yeah it is Richard, there are no more $128,000 homes, the American Dream is dead . Landlords caught on that 2 million people will be losing their homes this year and that everyone has to rent. They were flipping apartments, ours got flipped four times and we watched the rents raise up and up and up.

Looks like you've boxed yourself in. Bet it takes at least 30 days to open and sort through that accumulation of memories.

Was it a moving experience?
(hee hee hee)

Hobo Divine said...

Maybe it was a typo and Gordon Geko
said "agreed is good, agreed is right". Then everyone misinterpreted him and now we are all in a fix!

TotalD said...

Oh , were you tracking me ? Lol! By the way, amazing stuff Jab.

TotalD said...

God Jamie, that was so bad. Yes, it was a "moving " experience.

Christoph Siemens said...

*lol* Well, not really tracking. I was surprised to find the blog link on your website's main site, though. You wiped your traces well but I still had tinybun.com's address in one of my old PMs at that other place.
Thanks for the comment, I need that at the moment! I like what I see here, too, of course. Nice to see you're still active in animation in some ways. I, as always, am not - still just a hobby for my own entertainment.

TotalD said...

Well I don't think I wiped any traces as the blog link was up there for a long time but I know what you mean. Made the announcement here so , well there you go.

You could have done what I did D, when we moved into our house from the rental we were in. I paid the moving company a bunch of money to come in and box everything up in the house, AND the garage, and I took off to Canada for a week! When I returned I went to the new place, and they showed up with all the boxes and moved them in. It was pretty much stress free. It cost a bit of money, and when they saw the mess the garage was they charged us more lol, but I think it probably saved my marriage. Hey, and don't say "that's it" just yet. At 14 years a pop I'd say you're going to move another 2 or 3 times before you're done....

Oh I toyed with that idea Chris but it seemed too cruel an idea. There is no one on this planet that I hate enough to do that to let alone a stranger . This was my penance for having lived in denial. My confrontation with the reality, the junk I acquired to keep boy mode a going thing. Like an alcoholic , I had to face the consequences of my actions =) I kept looking over at Wendy saying "Why , why didn't you stop me " ?

shannon said...

D,

Glad to see you got everything moved in. Now you have to show us all the amazing crap you kept saying was buried in the closet.

Also, since you asked for it, I FINALLY UPDATED!!!

I think back to the mini show room on Roncesvalles..the look on your face with each new car model acquisition was more than gender denial...lovingly explaining to simple minded me each and every cam, shock absorber, and gizmo whatchamacallit ....you really were a wizard with the automobile
...or that's my theory at least

TotalD said...

A wizard was I ? Oh you poor baby. Ever see me work on a car Denis ? No, you never saw me once , not once ever get my hands dirty. Change a tire or the oil or even a battery ? Lol! I learned pretty quick I was totally clueless doing the actual job but I learned a lot about all the things that make a car work. It's not hard , you guys do it . Oliff outed me years ago the bastard ( whats the difference between a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke ? Your manhood rides on this one. ) . Sorry Denis but that is what you get for missing meetings.

Oh, all those little acquisitions , got great prices on ebay because they were unused.

el pancake said...

oh but I DID see you work on a real car, at least twice..once at the studio that must not be named, and once on a side street off Roncesvalles...maybe the whole trick was no matter how little you say you knew, I knew even LESS, ...you could prattle on about pretend airvalves and made up cylinders while my eyes just glazed over...I'm so easily fooled

TotalD said...

Lol! what are you on about ? Air valves ? What ? Denis, that wasn't me, I never worked on my cars. Maybe changed a bulb but , no. As you may remember the 69 Mustang Grande had the front wheel fall off as the new owner drove it away. The Capri was a 4.6 that no one made any upgrades for. None. Nothing.

TotalD said...

Perhaps one of the members Rubin Kincade , cause it wasn't me.

el pancake said...

like I said earlier, when it come to the auto-moble, I'm easily fooled

ya bastard D!! Or wrong terminology perhaps. . .you did nothing on yer Camaro??!! Why I oughta. . .
But it was a nice ride, although my son thought it was TOO LOUD that night at Bob's. Hope you love your new place - but 14 years goes by pretty darn fast. We've been in ours almost 12 already.
